Free Invoice Template for Saudi Arabia (Word & Excel Download)
Download a free, editable invoice template for Saudi Arabia in Word or Excel format - plus why a static template can't replace a real ZATCA-compliant e-invoice.

Both versions have the same layout, seller/customer fields, and a 15% VAT line item table with an example filled in - pick whichever format you actually work in.
Sometimes you just need to send a quick invoice without opening a full invoicing system - a one-off quote, a draft to review internally, or a placeholder before a customer's account is set up. These two templates cover that: fill in the highlighted fields, and the numbers work out correctly.
What's in the template
- Seller and customer sections for business name, address, VAT number, and CR number
- Invoice number, issue date, and due date fields
- A line item table with quantity, unit price, VAT rate, and calculated totals
- Subtotal, total VAT, and total due, worked out automatically in the Excel version
Excel vs Word - which one to use
The Excel version uses real formulas: change a quantity or a unit price and the amount, VAT, and total for that row - and the grand totals - recalculate automatically. It also includes a "Read Me First" tab with instructions. The Word version has the same layout and an example filled in, but since Word tables don't recalculate like a spreadsheet, any numbers you change need the total cells updated by hand. Use Excel if you're comfortable with spreadsheets; use Word if you just need something to type into and print.
Important - neither template is a ZATCA-compliant e-invoice
Since December 2021, VAT-registered businesses in Saudi Arabia are required to issue invoices electronically with a QR code, and, for many businesses, a cryptographic stamp from a system integrated with ZATCA's Fatoora platform. Neither a spreadsheet nor a Word document can generate either of those - these templates are meant for quick quotes, drafts, or businesses not yet required to register for VAT, not for your official VAT invoices. See our guide on who needs to register for VAT and what happens if an invoice isn't compliant.
The easier alternative: skip the manual math entirely
Every field in these templates - the VAT breakdown, the QR code, the sequential numbering - is something Free Invoice Generator fills in automatically on every invoice, with no formula to check or cell to update by hand. If you're invoicing more than the occasional one-off, it's worth trying the real tool instead.
Skip the manual math entirely
Free Invoice Generator generates the QR code, VAT breakdown, and sequential numbering automatically on every invoice - free, no account needed for a single invoice.
This template is provided as-is for general use and is not tax or legal advice - confirm current VAT and e-invoicing requirements on ZATCA's official portal (zatca.gov.sa) before relying on any invoice for tax purposes.
